For more information about Tahua Kete and how Karepa can support your event or programme, contact:

karepa.wall@tahuakete.org.nz.

Tahua Kete is a Te Āti Awa ki Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Wellington iwi-based cultural service provider led by experienced practitioners who bring tikanga Māori and mātauranga Māori into the heart of events, gatherings, and decision‑making spaces. Our work begins with understanding the kaupapa, the people, and the purpose of each hui, so that the tone, process, and mana of the occasion are honoured from the very first word.

Karepa Wall is a key contact and cultural lead for Tahua Kete, with years of experience leading and supporting the depths of Te Āti Awa tikanga in Wellington, ensuring our tikanga is upheld with integrity and that our guests feel supported while in Wellington.

With all our team having a strong grounding in tikanga and a practical, relational approach, Karepa and team works closely with organisers to design culturally appropriate openings and closings that align with the group's needs and the integrity of the place. Whether it’s a formal ceremony, a governance meeting, a community event, or a corporate gathering, the focus is always on clarity, respect, and cultural authenticity.

Tahua Kete’s services include facilitating pōwhiri, guiding whakawhanaungatanga, and offering cultural advice to help kairangi, kaimahi, and āwhina navigate tikanga in everyday spaces. We're adaptable, responsive, and committed to partnering with organisations that value culture as a living, guiding force rather than a formality.

He aha te mea nui o te ao?
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata

What is the most important thing in the world?

It is people, It is people, it is people.

At Wellington Functions, this whakataukī guides everything we do.

Because great events aren’t just about spaces or menus — they’re about people.
Brought to life through thoughtful service, genuine hospitality, and deep respect for place, culture, and community.

"I wanted to say thanks for everything on Saturday night, but especially for the vegetarian option.  Best tofu I have ever had.  My compliments to the chef!  It really made my night to have such a great vegetarian main.

The night was a great success and many thanks to you and your team for making it that way.  All of your staff did a great job on the night too."

Awe Aotearoa

Everything was excellent. The service, the kai, the facilities, the vibe, the tech — all 100%. We truly couldn’t fault a thing.

The Bowen team had a great night on Saturday. Thank you for your teams support leading up to the event and on the night. Great feedback all round.

Hope you all have a great Christmas break. We will see you in the new year.

UN Youth

Last year’s Global Gala was spectacular.

Whakapā mai!

Tell us what you’re planning and our team will be in touch.
