Located in the RA Vance Stand at Wellington’s iconic Basin Reserve, this unique function venue brings together sporting history, impressive views and modern event facilities. As New Zealand’s oldest Test cricket ground and the only one with Historic Place status, the Basin Reserve provides a memorable setting for conferences, corporate events, exhibitions, private functions and celebrations.

The venue features two flexible event spaces, The Trish McKelvey Lounge and The Norwood Room, both overlooking the wicket and cricket ground. Floor-to-ceiling windows, generous natural light and adaptable room layouts create a professional yet relaxed environment for everything from business meetings and presentations to cocktail functions, lunches and dinners.

 

Both rooms are air-conditioned, accessible and equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi and modern audiovisual facilities. Bar facilities, in-house catering and support from the Wellington Functions team help make planning and delivering your event easy.

Through partnerships with Cricket Wellington and the Basin Reserve Trust, selected events can also include unique cricket experiences such as indoor net sessions, ground tours and team photos in front of the historic scoreboard.
