Located at 4 Taranaki Street on Wellington’s waterfront, Harbourside Function Centre is one of the city’s most distinctive event venues. Set within the heritage-listed Shed 22 building, the venue combines exposed brick, soaring ceilings and original industrial character with flexible spaces and modern event facilities.

Throughout its history, the building has housed wool, timber and flax, and was once home to a working brewery. Today, its exposed brickwork, metal joinery, half-moon windows and distinctive sawtooth roof have been carefully retained. Expansive windows and glass ceilings bring natural light into the venue, while views across Wellington Harbour create a memorable backdrop for every occasion.

Across three levels, Harbourside offers spaces suited to everything from focused meetings and workshops to conferences, gala dinners, exhibitions, weddings and large celebrations. The Cable Room provides a private, pillar-free space on the ground floor, while the Waterfront and Te Aro Rooms can be used separately or combined to create the venue’s largest event space for up to 650 guests.

On the top floor, The Loft offers a relaxed and character-filled setting for smaller functions, workshops and social events. Tupuānuku and Ururangi provide private executive boardrooms for meetings of up to 8 and 14 guests respectively. Each room offers its own atmosphere and can be configured to suit the style and scale of your event.

Positioned between Te Papa Tongarewa and Wellington’s CBD, Harbourside is within walking distance of public transport, accommodation and many of the city’s main attractions.
